Everything Is Everywhere, 2014, 11 x 8.5 in. (27.9 x 21.6 cm), 4C, 160pp., hardcover. Published by Frame Publishers in an edition of 2,000 / ISBN: 978-94-91727-26-9 / Artist’s book that explores the nature of reproductions and metadata for three bodies of work: Black Holes, Mindscapes, and Figure Drawings.
Everything Is Everywhere is Ryan McGinness’ latest artist’s book featuring new paintings and sculptures from different bodies of works (Mindscapes, Blackholes, & Women) as well as site-specific work made for the pages of this book. Reproductions of reproductions fold in on themselves as McGinness treats the metadata captions about the work with as much (or even more) importance as the reproduced works they describe. Adventurous typography is also employed with the incongruous phrases and texts culled from the artist’s sketchbooks. The stunning juxtapositions of all these elements create a textured and vividly explosive book that requires multiple visits.
